Our Story

Quiet Storm Basketball Program has been operating since 2013.

Our Founder, Coach Norman Anthony, has been coaching for 19 years.

Coach Norm started his career coaching high school basketball for 10 years at Englewood High School and Roberson High School. He transitioned into middle school basketball, because he realized if he could start training youth earlier in their athletic careers, he could incorporate more fundamentals and one-on-one drills.

Quiet Storm Basketball’s team consists of underprivileged youth in the Grand Crossing, Englewood and South Shore communities. The goal of our program is to prepare middle school children interested in basketball for high school basketball and increase their chances of moving onto the college level.

The Quiet Storm program follows a family business model. Coach Norm and his son. Norm Jr. and a few other coaches volunteer to ensure every player gets the necessary attention to enhance their skills. Coach Norm consistently invites our former players to come back and speak with the current youth on the, “What Ifs” of the game. We teach our players that basketball is just one part of an individual athlete’s life goals. We are also real with our players and help them to realize that not every person interested in the game with make it to the big leagues. BUT, we remind that it starts with practice and dedication, so they can strive to train like professional athletes early.

Our motto is “no dream is too big!” We want our players to remember that on and off the court!
